Job Summary/Responsibilities

The assistant business manager-sales executive is responsible for assisting the business manager with all revenue regarding Spinnaker Media. The assistant business manager will help track advertising, sponsorship, and creative services revenue to ensure all media outlets’ continued financial solvency and stability.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all matters related to advertising and revenue derived from display, classified and online advertisements.
The assistant business manager/sales executive will be familiar with Spinnaker Media advertising policies, including ad dimensions, deadlines and discounts. The position requires an organized, positive, sociable person who deals well with numbers and has a grasp of media business practices.

Required Qualifications

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may be asked to perform other related duties as required to meet the on-going needs of Spinnaker.
Meet desired revenue goals of the Business Manager.
Generate invoices and log receipts for gifts and purchases made and provide any required copies to necessary parties.
Track the progress and completion of sales from introduction to payment for publication.
Be available in the office during business hours to address clients’ or staffers’ inquiries and concerns.
Assist in reconciling the revenue goals with the business manager.
Exceed clients’ expectations.
Help in mailing out invoices and appropriate proof of placement. Assist in tracking sales force’s zones, annual and monthly progress, and money earned on new sales and upsales.
Stay aware of new potential clients and trends in the industry.
Pay is a lump sum contingent on meeting the responsibilities and qualifications of the position consistent with a minimum of 10 hours of competent effort each week.
Sales experience is preferred.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Be continuously enrolled at UNF for the duration of the position (and available for a minimum of 16 weeks per semester) and not be on academic probation or suspension according to the most recent UNF course catalog as defined by the most-recent University of North Florida course catalog
