General Description / Primary Purpose

The Coordinator for Video Production and Graphic Design for Athletics will serve as a key member on the University of North Florida Athletic Department external operations team providing creative content in the areas of video production, graphic design, social media, and publications.

Essential Duties

Job Function

Video Production
Lead provider of in-house video content for North Florida Athletics across multiple platforms, including but not limited to:
- Producing event highlights and feature packages; producing social media content; managing distribution of highlights to external entities, including media agencies, conference and NCAA offices, and external agencies. Responsible for video production, including writing, shooting, editing, and post-production of content for athletics production, athletic communications ( and social media accounts) and marketing (video boards, promotional videos, team entrances, special events, and television commercials). Includes coverage of games, practices and special events.
- Producing the year-end highlight videos for the annual Student Athlete Banquet
- Producing all video content for videoboard systems, including intro videos, hype videos, and other operational needs
- Responsible for archiving and managing footage
- Serving as the producer for any streaming sports shows promoting UNF Athletics
- Managing staff and interns used to acquire video files, edit video files, and produce promotional material
- Researching and acquiring new production equipment within appropriated budget
- Responsible for management and organization of cameras and editing equipment
- Travel with athletic teams to away games, select sport away content, and post season tournaments for all teams, as needed
- Other projects as assigned

Job Function

Videoboard Operations
Responsible for the operations of all videoboards located at UNF Athletic Facilities, including but not limited to:
- Creating the content that will appear on the videoboards
- Managing operations of the videoboards during events, including non-athletic events
- Managing the staff associated with running the videoboards during events
- Serving as the liaison with Nevco regarding maintenance needs and software updates
- Other duties as assigned

ESPN3 and Event Streaming Operations
Assist the Communications Office with managing the operations associated with ESPN3 and other event streaming applications, including, but not limited to:
- Overseeing the production crew at assigned events
- Assisting with system updates, graphic creation, video archiving, and other duties associated with the ESPN3 control room.
- Other duties as assigned

Graphic Design
Provide graphic design support to the Marketing and Communications Offices, including but not limited to the following platforms:
- Videoboard graphics
- Any team and department promotional items
- Advertisements for ticket sales for various sports
- Social media outlets
- Championship banners and displays at Athletic facilities
- Graphics for use on miscellaneous digital signage, such as billboards and TVs in UNF Arena
- Assists with coordination of social media
- Other projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization; or a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and two years of experience directly related to the job functions.

Departmental Requirements

Ability to work as a member of a team with diverse personalities and backgrounds. The successful candidate will also demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong working knowledge of video editing software/programs; strong computer background with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe software, and other graphic design software; ability to work with coaches, athletes, students and university administration to complete a wide variety of tasks; ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends when the job requires; must demonstrate a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations as it pertains to athletic department personnel.

This position requires a level II background check, which includes fingerprinting. In conjunction with the University’s policy, this position may also require a credit check.

The holder of this position is responsible for any NCAA and Atlantic Sun Conference bylaws and guidelines that a member of the UNF Athletic Compliance Department provides in addition to all UNF regulations. The individual must also assure that NCAA, Conference and UNF regulations are followed to the best of their knowledge and any violations thereof are reported to UNF Athletic Compliance.

This position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). This position has been designated as a CSA because it involves significant responsibility for student and campus activities and/or responsibility for campus security. As such, any person in this position must report to the University Police Department a crime or an incident that might be a crime that he/she becomes aware of. This position has a reporting requirement because the University believes that responsibility for students, campus activities and/or campus security will make the holder of this position someone members of the University community will see as an authority figure and someone to whom they can seek help. A CSA is not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSA’s responsibility is a duty to report. All positions designated as CSAs are required to complete an online or in-person training session. The holder of this position is designated as a “Responsible Employee” pursuant to their role under Title IX.
