Job Summary/Responsibilities

The Campus Life Event Student Assistant will support the office in planning and facilitating events and programs from the Office of Campus Life. This role will need to:
-manage details effectively
-welcome, include, and engage students at events and when visiting the office
-be reliable and socially confident
-assist in development and upkeep of collaborative campus partnerships and opportunities
-have the ability to function well in a multi-use environment with a variety of programs, services, and demands.

Tasks may include making reservations, event set-up and break down, staffing tables, scanning ID cards, etc.

Required Qualifications

Someone in this role:
-Must be self-motivated and dependable.
-Willing to connect students to campus.
-Strong organization and time management skills.
-Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work independently with minimal direction
-Ability to work as part of a team.

In addition, this role is responsible for facilitating Campus Life’s events and must be available for night and weekend programs requiring a flexible night schedule and willingness to work at least two weeknight programs. Weekly programs take place Monday, Tuesday and Friday with events also taking place multiple Saturdays throughout the semester. Once a semester there will be a Sunday event that corresponds with a welcome week.

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience working in customer service.
-Interest or experience in event planning
-Proficient in word, excel, outlook
